Olga Kagan, PhD, RN, CIMI
Olga Kagan, PhD, RN, CIMI holds a license as a professional registered nurse in NYS since 2000 and has been a certified infant massage instructor since 2003 and Red Cross trainer since 2019. She worked in critical care settings inside and outside of the US since 1995. In 2002, she transitioned to an outpatient clinic as a Clinical Nurse Coordinator at the WTC Worker & Volunteer Medical Screening & Monitoring Program at Mt. Sinai Selikoff Centers for Occupational Health. She developed educational materials, and was involved with the testing and administration of the assessment tools from the inception of the program. Dr. Kagan’s research interest lies in serving the needs of individuals living with allergic conditions, and is aimed at prevention and action strategies through the lens of public health, health policy, and nursing informatics. She continues to bring educational programs to those in need, and is involved in the development and testing of assessment and educational tools in populations susceptible to anaphylaxis. She is a founder and co-leader of Food Allergy Nursing Interest group (FANI) on LinkedIn, working independently and collaboratively with other professionals on a variety of projects, as well as co-authoring research articles. As a Molloy College faculty, she serves as an advisory board member for the Center for Nursing Research and Evaluation (CNRE), and Doctoral Nursing Organization (DNO). She also teaches at CUNY SPS, where she is a Governing Council elected representative. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she provided assistance to NYS in hiring of contact tracers and supervisors. She has been invited to serve as a research reviewer, a mentor, and a judge for science and innovation driven events, including MITvsCOVID19 challenges. Dr. Kagan serves on several committees, including HIMSS-NY nursing informatics, AAAAI technology and innovation, and undeserved populations, ANA-NY elections and nominations, the NYAM nursing and informatics groups. She is a member of the ENRS, FAAMA, LIAAS, SONSIEL, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. Olga Kagan lives in Long Island, NY with her husband and two children.
